Cornice options include:

Fibrous plaster cornice, handmade from natural materials is the purist choice and also the most versatile option. Any design conceivable can easily be created and moulded allowing large scale production without the need for expensive tooling.
Purotouch cornice, a relative newcomer, is a lightweight alternative to plaster which is easy to install for the average DIY enthusiast and still gives the same elegant appearance. Polyurethane is still a ‘moulded’ product and offers exceptional detail and quality.
Flexible Purotouch cornice and panels are available in many of the designs allowing the mouldings to follow curved bays and walls which designers and architects are frequently building into new projects. The flex options can be found in the polyurethane cornice section where the option is available.
Duropolymer cornice is less expensive option being extruded rather than moulded. It is very lightweight and an excellent choice for DIY projects.

Basixx cornice is the budget choice only available in bulk quantities. The quality is not as good as the other materials but it can still be used to good effect and is extremely lightweight, making it a suitable DIY option.

What is Cornice/ Coving?
A cornice is the moulding that runs horizontally around the top of the wall and ceiling junction. There are interior and exterior cornices which can be decorative visual or functional which help to protect the wall from the rain. Cornice/coving is considered a finishing element of the room décor as it visually transforms a plain room to a complete and peaceful space. Historically cornice designs include repeat patterns of plants, fruits, vegetation, details garlands and swags from Roman and Greek styles. As time move on however, particularly in the Georgian era a simpler style evolved with elegant profiles and an absence of embellishments until the Victorians came on to the scene and revived the ancient Greek and Italian influences.There is really no difference between cornice and coving, they are both terms referring to the same element in this instance.Traditional plaster cornices and coving are mainly made from cast or run plaster and reinforced with hessian or jute canvas and hardwood, adding fibres to the brittle plaster, hence the term ‘fibrous plaster.’
Victorian Cornice
A very popular choice of coving is the Victorian style. Typically, Victorian Cornices/ Coving have deep curves referred to as ‘swan necks’ and many ridges with a wide projection onto the ceiling, the ridges casting shadows and defining the profile.
